IN THE POT | PIZZA PORK CHOPS

This is totally one of those recipes that you will never see in a health food magazine.  I thought I would give this a try because the name “Pizza Pork Chops” was something I knew would get HUBBY’s heart racing.

It’s a great dish for the end of the grocery week when you’re down to nothing in the cupboard and you just want an easy dish to make.  In fact I could see this dish being a big hit with students. (A bit more substance than Raman noodles!)

While it’s easy to make and a great way to get rid of some of those pesky bottled sauces you always seem to have left in the cupboard I don’t think I’ll be making this one again.  The pork ended up being really dry and I’m not a fan of jar spaghetti sauce at the best of times.  But I am all about trying new things and this I tried…

I also tried to inject more vegetables into this meal so I served it with a vegetable pasta medley. It was a lame attempt… Not one of the better dishes I’ve made this month!

Pizza Pork Chops…looks better than it tasted…

Pizza Pork Chops

4-6 boneless pork chops

Salt and pepper, to season

1 x Onion, diced

1 x 800g Jar of Spaghetti Sauce

1 x Packet of Pasta

Shredded mozzarella cheese, to serve

1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper and then place in the bottom of your slow cooker.

2. Scatter the diced onion over the top of the pork chops.

3. Pour the jar of spaghetti sauce over the onion and pork chops.

4. Cook on low for 6 – 8 hours, or 4 hours on high.

5. Cook pasta as per packet instructions. Drain pasta for serving.

6. To serve place cooked pasta on a plate and then place pork chops and sauce on top of pasta. Dust with shredded cheese.
