MEET PENNYDOG PATCHWORK
What are you most proud of from your quilting experience?
Getting into Sewvivor. Honestly that was a massive confidence boost that I was selected along with several other bloggers I have followed for a while on blogs and Instagram (I’m looking at you Angie). And I was the only one from the UK, wow, I was grinning like an idiot for days.
Whatโs the one piece of advice about quilting that all new quilters should know?
Go with the flow and make what you like and don’t let trends change your personal style. It’s boring when everyone makes the same thing in the same fabric. Oh and if it all goes wrong and the seams don’t match and you cut the wrong size pieces or whatever, it’s improv ๐ Is that one or two things? Two? Sorry.

Whoโs the quilter(s) that inspire you at the moment?
I was very pleased to discover Christopher from the Sewvivor competition, I’d not come across him before and his work intrigues me. It’s hard to pin it down to even just a few but I like anyone who makes pictorial quilts, such as Luke Haynes, and I like Sarah Fielke for her applique, Week Ringle and Bill Kerr for colour selection…. Some of my favourite blogs are Little Island Quilting, Play Crafts and Fresh Modern Quilts by Rossie Hutchinson. They do the “modern” thing but not in a dull, seen-it-before kind of way.

I’m back and I love you!
I love reading interviews. I don’t understand quilting terms but I do love seeing the finished product. I especially love the last quilt of the dog with an open mouth!
I’m like that with most things in life – I don’t understand it, but I just like looking at all the pretty ๐
I’ve been following Kerry for awhile – I love her greyhound quilt, and her greyhound pics and stories. I’m also super in love with her new dog Hank!
She’s fabulous, isn’t she??! I’m looking forward to hearing all about her latest wedding related adventures!
Great interview – I loved Billy bass too but my favourite has to be the greyhounds quilt. Gorgeous.
I love them too – I just love Kerry’s applique technique. One day I’ll make a quilt inspired by her awesomeness.
