Week 1: Twice As Much Fun

Week 1 of the 9 Patch Parade for March starts today and this month we’re working with the “Twice As Much Fun” Pattern by Marti Michell. This pattern is included in the 9 Patch Starter Kit and will be the basis for your entries in this month’s prize pool.

What to do this week in the Parade

Task: Read the pattern. Pick your fabrics. Start cutting out your project.

This pattern is super simple and a great warm up for the next 6 months of nine patch fun. You can use this pattern to inspire your nine patch project.

What I’m doing this week in the Parade

I’m going to make a table runner for our dining table this month. I’m trying to decide between using strip piecing or going with fussy cuts instead. I’ll have to make a decision soon because I need to share my cutting process next week! Ack!

Coming Up in the Parade

In Week 2 I’ll share my method for making the table runner and a little video on how I use the rulers. I can’t wait to see what fabrics and ideas you’re playing with this week! Pattern: Twice As Much Fun

Projects in Pattern:

  • Twice as Much Fun Quilt
  • Twice as Much Fun Table Runner

Minimum Requirements: Your completed project must contain at a minimum of 4 of the Twice As Much Fun blocks. For example, the table runner or long skinny wallhanging in the pattern.

This Month’s Key Dates

The following times are for your use in working out when to have your entries submitted. They are applicable to YOUR TIMEZONE.

  • Week 1: 1 March – 7 March
  • Week 2: 8 March – 14 March
  • Week 3: 15 March – 21 March
  • Week 4: 22 March – 31 March

Please note: I do not post the reminders or blog posts on Saturday or Sunday, so where key dates fall on a weekend I will post these on the Monday.
