Link Love: Surprise Hysterectomy

If my math’s is right, as you’re reading this I’m either: 1. at the hospital waiting to go into Theatre, 2. in Theatre, 3. in Recovery or 4. Impatiently waiting to be discharged. I got a call on Tuesday morning from my surgeon letting me know that he could do the procedure on Monday 19 November and so I jumped at the chance to have it done and over with. Between you and me I kind of surprised myself by not chickening out and delaying it. As I write this I’m just at the point of being so sick and tired of having my health dominate everything that I’m really looking forward to finishing 2018 with my health issues behind me.ย
I finally feel like I’m in a place where I’m not freaking out about something going wrong with the procedure or if they’ll find anything. Coming out of my colonoscopy was great and it made me feel so much better about having this procedure. Of course I’m freaking out about dying. (I’m always freaking out about dying!) I don’t want to leave my family, but I’m at that point where those irrational fears are being overshadowed by my annoyance at the impacts that managing my health is having on my life.
Last week I spoke about making the decision to carry on as if nothing was impacting my plans and I was lucky enough to get a major deliverable done just before I got the call… I want to introduce you to my 2019 Block of the Month Series; Miss Lizzy Samplers. I’ve designed 2 samplers, a contemporary and a traditional, based on the same 12 blocks used in different sizes and way. I’ve also built a whole year of tutorials, inspirational printables and tasks to help us have a fabulous year together. I’m super proud of it and I can’t wait to reveal it in it’s fullness to you over the coming weeks. I’m currently offering a price discount for those of you that wish to buy it now before all the blocks and settings are revealed.
I have lots to share and tell you about, but right now I need to be getting off to the hospital to get this pesky uterus and it’s cohort of friends removed. I can’t wait to talk to you on the other side!ย Wishing you a week filled with love, laughter and much fabric fondling!
