How did you come to be a quilter?

Through my love of fabric – for me, itโ€™s always been about the fabric. I started sewing about 5 years ago, making pretty basic drawstring bags, totes, cushions and zip pouches. I progressed to mini quilts, then sewing squares together to make bigger quilts, until finally making actual bed-sized quilts and thinking of myself as a โ€˜quilterโ€™.

What is it that you love about being a quilter?

The freedom to create stuff that you dream up in your head, and to mix colours and prints together to produce really unexpected but hopefully fabulous results. I also love the awesome quilty-community online, in our local quilt shops and at our Brisbane MQG.

What made you start Cat & Vee?

The desire to make fun stuff, and to inspire others to make fun stuff too. We know itโ€™s not rocket science. To bring a bit of fun, colour and awesome design to the homes of our family, friends and lovely customers is a privilege and a joy.
