GnomeAngel Version Block 6: Compass Points
Having learned my lesson on the last block and weird angled pieces this one I flipped the script and used the stripes where I normally would have used a feature fabric. It completely changes the feel and look of the block. Managed to fussy cut a frog in there too which is always fun.
Technique Used: I’m making mine with the From Marti Michell Perfect Patchwork Templates. I love this method because it makes it so much easier for me to sew without engaging my brain AND I can fussy cut without having to math. (Yay!)
Fabrics: I’m using all Tula Pink in a colour wash to match the Slash layout (rainbow). For the ‘background’ on the blocks I’m using the Tula Pink Tent Stripe from Graywork.

The block is bananas. I am so excited to have been able to include some of my all time favourite Tula fabric in this quilt.

This is the block that broke me when it came to fussy cutting the stripes. Oh boy, those angle cuts. This is a case of the right tool for the right job – I should have followed Quiet Play’s tutorial on FPP with angles!
